In your case I would study database management, which always seemed to be separate from code hackers. Indeed, when I was at the university, Business IT was 4 years of business courses (with database) or 2 years of math (for code jockeys). I’m sorry I took the math route, there are many very talented “code monkeys” out there. DB involves complexity of set theory (sets like in math).

You will probably want to get an introduction to architectures for ecommerce to learn about the basics of infrastructure, application architecture, development and implementation and so forth. Then you can focus in on specific areas of expertise according to your interests. Your professors and fellow students can help you decide where your talents match the demand of the industry.
