Mba Question?

November 5th, 2009

Ok I am debating what to do for an mba and have several questions. I am hoping you other knowledgeable people can help me out.
1. How hard is it to get into a graduate school?
2. Once into the graduate school, how difficult is it to maintain the 3.0 gpa?h
3. I am finishing up my bachelors at a small private university. I really want to get my mba. My gpa will be between 3.3 and 3.6. I have taken online classes before and feel I could do that while working a full time job….
5. I have researched some mba universities online and alot of good colleges do offer online mba’s(univ of indiana, univ of nebraska, univ of mississippi state, univ of tulsa, arizona state, florida, florida state, penn state, colorado state, just to name a few good ones)..
6. What I am wondering is should I get a full time job right after finishing up bachelors, go to work, and then take gmat and apply to these schools?
7. I am located in Iowa, so I am favoring an online mba from an AACSB accredited college(Nebrask

Get some work experience first. The classes do not make as much sense unless you have experienced what they are talking about. BTW, Most programs do not let people in right from undergrad.
Would you go to a doctor who learned from an online university? Same for an MBA or anything else.

I went and got my BS degree, while working part-time. Now, I’ve got a pretty good job here, and I am debating on whether or not to pursue my MBA as well.
My advice is, if you plan on working full-time, then I would do it at a company that you’d want to work at after you get your MBA. Work experience, longetivity are good things that businesses want.
However, its also possible to get a good job immediately after you get your MBA, if you were a good student. One of my friends got her MBA, then started working for Humana.
My suggestion is, if you think you can work full-time and it won’t hurt your grades while you pursue for your MBA, then go ahead. It can’t hurt, and work experience is a plus for any college graduate.
