I was wondering if employers look negatively on an MBA from a school like Franklin Univ because it’s all done online. I want my MBA, but I am not sure about Franklin.
I got my undegrad degree there and it seems like employers/co-workers look negatively on it because it was done online. Compared to the traditional way. I don’t want that w/ my MBA.

Did you have to have a high GPA to get into the undergraduate program? Do you have to pass ( with a high score) the GRE to get into the MBA program? How many people have enrolled in the MBA program . Also called the BBB to see if there were any complaints against them. Also, how much they charge is also a good indication of creditability. And, finally, people do not usually get their MBA where they got their Bs, BA, etc.Good luck .
There is nothing wrong with an on-line degree as long as it is granted by a respectable school. Before you consider which MBA program is for you, consult the Official MBA Guide, a comprehensive free public service with more than 2,000 MBA programs listed worldwide. It allows you to search for programs by location (US, Europe, Far East, etc.), by concentration (finance, marketing, aviation management, health management, accounting, etc.), by type of program (full-time, distance learning, part-time, etc), and by listing your own criteria and preferences to get a list of universities that satisfy your needs. You can use the Guide to contact schools of your choice, examine their data, visit their web site, and send them pre applications. You can see lists of top 40 schools ranked by starting salaries of graduates, GMAT scores, and other criteria. It’s the best service available at http://officialmbaguide.org.
That’s a great question! My name is Josh Fitzwater and I’m the Social Media Manager at Franklin University. I happened upon your post. First of all, congrats on making the decision on going back for your MBA. Regardless of where you decide to go, an MBA is very rewarding and can pay dividends in your career. Online learning is a type of learning format that has grown astronomically in the past three years. I think it’s all about how you prefer to learn. Online learning is not for everyone. But it’s perfect if you have a busy life and the commitment to attend a physical classroom is a challenge. Because an MBA is such a big commitment, you need to find the program and school that’s perfect for you – Franklin or not. However, we’d love to have you back as a student!
An interesting statistic we have here at Franklin that reflects how employers value a Franklin education is that 1/3 of Franklin graduates receive job promotions within the first year of graduating. Our online MBA has been named a Best Value by GetEducated.com, Franklin is fully accredited, and our MBA is accredited by the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE). If you’d like me to personally send you some more info or get you in touch with the right person, email me at social@franklin.edu. Good luck and happy MBA-ing!
