If their official degree title is Masters of Business Administration, then a person can use MBA on any of their documentation. If, however, their degree title is Master of Arts in Business Administration or Master of Science in Business Administration, then they would need to use MABA or MSBA respectively to be accurate in their documentation.
A good option is to ask the college of business where the degree was earned if you can use the MBA title if your degree was listed officially as anything other than Masters of Business Administration.
